I’m Catherine A’Bear, a professionally trained canine behaviourist and trainer based in North Wiltshire.

I have spent a lifetime living with dogs and wanting to understand them. I have built upon this by undertaking professional training with the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training, one of the highest rated dog behaviour training schools in the country.

My particular specialism is in observing your dog both in your home environment and in the outside world. I will work out what is triggering any unwanted behaviour and help you to understand this. I’ll then teach you how to manage and train your dog in a way that works for you.

My methods are built on current research, professional training and a lifetime of dog ownership and experience. Working with you, I will explain the principles of how dogs learn and the basics of good dog training. I then help you to train and manage your dog with kindness and clarity.

I work with dogs with all different types of behaviour problems, including: reactivity, aggression, separation anxiety, poor recall, and a general inability to ‘switch off’ and relax.

Designed for dogs of all ages, I'll show you how to teach your dog all the foundations to be a happy and well-behaved family member.

The process starts with a visit to your home to gather information from you and to observe your dog in its own environment. I will then provide you with a diagnosis and a course of action to help you improve your dog’s behaviour. Usually, one visit is all that is needed – I’m at the end of the phone or email for you thereafter.
